Every election cycle, California Common Cause and Asian Law Caucus recruit and train volunteers to serve as a supportive, nonpartisan presence for voters. Voters of color, immigrant communities, young voters, and voters with limited English proficiency can face some of the greatest barriers to participating in our elections. When issues arise, our volunteers can be the difference between someone giving up and someone successfully casting
their ballot.

1. Don't wait until Election Day to find out whether you need specific ID or any additional documents to vote.
2. Check your state's current voter ID and registration requirements NOW! Go to https://voteriders.org/freehelp/
3. Get this info to anyone who has not been a recent active voter.
4. Vote early. If you feel unsafe, vote in groups.
5. Here in California: Check your own voter status. Make sure you have not been removed from the voter rolls.
6. If you don't have the required ID when you go to vote, ask for a provisional ballot on the spot.
7. Save the nonpartisan voter protection hotline number at the polls - 866-OUR-VOTE (866-687-8683).
8. A few minutes of preparation will help prevent confusion on Election Day. Know the rules, know your options, and make a plan to vote!
